Fire Evacuation Procedure
Magnus Academy
If you find a fire or one is reported to you
Anyone discovering a fire should activate the alarm using the nearest available ‘break glass point’ and call 999 immediately.
Fire Fighting
There is no expectation for hirers to fight any fire.
On hearing the fire alarm
- All occupants of the building must respond to alarm activations
- The fire alarm is a continuous ringing bell
- If you have found the fire, raise the alarm before contacting emergency services (Dial 999) as necessary
- Upon hearing a fire alarm evacuate the building by the nearest fire exit and meet at the designated assembly point.
- It is the responsibility of hirers to ensure they have a register of attendees and to check that everyone who has attended the session is clear of the building.
- Each group leader should confirm with the site/emergency services team at the assembly point that the group is all present and accounted for.
- No one should re-enter the building until instructed to do so by the emergency services or site staff.
THE ASSEMBLY POINT IS THE SCHOOL CAR PARK AT THE FRONT OF THE SPORTS BLOCK.
A CALM ORDERLY EXIT IS ESSENTIAL. WALK QUICKLY – DO NOT RUN OR STOP TO COLLECT BELONGINGS
