Safeguarding
Safguarding Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults
Active4Today Ltd has a responsibility to safeguard and protect the most vulnerable users of our activities, this includes the leisure facilities and outreach development activities we provide on behalf of Newark and Sherwood District Council.
It is therefore the responsibility of every employee of the Company to assist in the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Our policy is one that has been developed in partnership with Newark and Sherwood District Council and other local authorities in Nottinghamshire.
This policy ensures that all staff are aware of their responsibilities in protecting and safeguarding through the course of their work. The policy can be found here - https://nottsdistrict.proceduresonline.com/index.htm
The Company takes part in regular meetings with District Council colleagues, ensuring that staff are up to date with the latest guidance and information which will review and inform future policy and operating procedures.
The Company, also working in partnership with Southwell Leisure Centre Trust, has a series of robust measures in place to ensure that staff are appropriately recruited with the right qualifications and an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) completed for those directly working with children and young people.
All staff receive training which may be included in their qualification but also take part in internal safeguarding training to make sure they are aware of the correct protocols for raising any concerns they may have.
