Newark Castle Archers
Newark Castle Archers is a fairly new club and was only formed in Spring of 2014. At our first open day we had over 50 people attend and we knew from that moment that our club would be welcoming, friendly and accessible to all.
With the help of Notts Archery Association, a local coach was able to hold 3 beginners courses during our first summer season. The courses proved very popular and were hugely enjoyed by everyone taking part.
During our first club tournament we had competitions in adult recurve, adult bare bow, adult longbow and juniors - this now annual tournament is held in August and known as The Summer Trophy.
Today, Newark Castle Archers is a thriving club currently training at Newark Rugby Club on Mondays, Fridays evenings and Sunday afternoons during our outdoor season and Magnus Community Sports Centre for our indoor season. We welcome all ages and abilities, you just need the desire to lift a bow and shoot an arrow!

Southwell Croquet Club
Southwell Croquet Club are a small but well-established, friendly club meeting regularly on Tuesday and Saturday mornings during the summer months. We play Golf and Association Croquet and have three half size lawns (sometimes configured to one full size and a half size) on the Arthur Radford Sports Ground at Morton-Cum-Fiskerton.
Croquet relies on strategy not strength and so it can be played on equal terms by people regardless of gender, age or ability. There are no special requirements other than flat-soled footwear as all equipment can be supplied on site by the club.
Croquet is a very sociable sport to play, and our qualified coach offers taster sessions and introductory courses for anyone wanting to further explore the intricacies of the game.
Out of season we also run a social programme to keep members in touch and entertained during the winter months.
New members are always very welcome, so why get in touch and give croquet a try?
