Strokeability
Strokeability is a gentle exercise programme specifically designed for people recovering from a stroke and is also suitable for those suffering from other neurological injuries. Qualified instructors provide help and guidance on relaxation techniques and living a healthier, more fulfilling life. Participants who are suffering from the effects of a stroke will also have the chance to meet others in similar circumstances.
The class is delivered by a fully trained exercise professional who have been through specific training in working with people who have had a stroke.

Cardiac rehab
Through a partnership working with Newark, Kings Mill and Nottingham City Hospitals, we are able to provide cardiac rehab (Active Heartfit) classes at Newark Sports and Fitness Centre, Wednesdays 10.30am-11.30am. Once patients have received hospital treatment and care, they are encouraged to continue exercising by accessing this invitation only class.
The classes offer patients the opportunity to exercise in a safe and friendly environment with the guidance of highly trained exercise professionals.
Cost: £5 per session, or free with Activo Membership.

Otago
Group seated exercise sessions for people aged over 55 to help improve balance, strength and co-ordination. Followed by a chance to chat.

Dementia Carers Group
The Dementia Carers group run a fortnightly session at Newark Sports and Fitness Centre, 11.30am - 12.30pm, offering a variety of activities including Seated games using Boccia balls into hoops, knocking down targets, balloon badminton and hockey plus more.
These activities bring exercise, co-ordination and fun into the group, providing necessary games to give respite and laughter to the carers and their partners.
The Dementia Group also meet twice per week, Monday and Thursday afternoons at Balderton Village Centre, on Coronation Street.
